There’s nothing. In between that long forever and the sliver we call life followed by another endless horizon of forever, there is nothing.
Unless we stop and turn to look back at what has been, what came before. And then turn within the next moment to face that which will come, that which will become past. And recognize now.
Within each second, there exists an opportunity.
We have the option every moment of every minute to transform the nothing that consumes entire lives into something.
This transformation requires only one element, one factor.
We must savor. That’s all. That’s it.
To savor requires nothing more than being, accepting.
Turn nothing into something. Savor this moment. This one, right now, here. Push aside everything else.
It is difficult. Seemingly impossible, with a lifetime of thoughts and memories and regrets and the entire world in the palm of your hand on a touch screen.
But if you do nothing more than savor once or twice a day, you will recapture life. Because a few moments stolen back from nothing each day will become minutes and then hours and then entire days.
A moment savored is a life lived.
